Privacy Policy
Status: December 2025
Data Controller: Christian Drapatz, Essen (Germany)
This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed when you use the app, for what purposes, and what rights you have.
1. What the app does
The app is used to create, edit, and manage localized language and text data for Xcode projects. The core functionality runs locally on your device.
2. What data the app processes
2.1 No collection of personal data by the provider as a rule
The app is designed not to actively request personal data such as your name, address, phone number, email address, or similar identifying information, and it does not transmit such data to the app provider.
Important: Content you add to the app yourself (for example, text contained in localization files) may still include personal data if you enter such information. Whether that happens is entirely up to you.
2.2 Local project and text data
All projects and texts you create or edit in the app are stored locally within the app’s storage area on your Mac. If you do not use the optional AI features, there is no automatic sync and no transfer to servers operated by the app provider.
2.3 API keys (tokens) for AI providers
If you store an API key for an AI provider, the app stores it exclusively on your device in the macOS Keychain. The key is not transmitted to the app provider.
3. Disclosure of data to third parties
3.1 No disclosure without AI usage
If you do not use the AI features, no project or text data is disclosed to third parties. The app provider does not have access to your locally stored content.
3.2 Optional AI features and disclosure to AI providers
The app optionally offers translation and text-editing features through external AI services. Depending on your configuration, supported providers may include OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), DeepL, and PerplexityAI.
When you actively use such a feature, the app connects to the provider you selected and transmits the data necessary to fulfill your request. This typically includes:
• an instruction (prompt) describing how content should be translated or rewritten
• the content you selected (for example, key-value pairs or text to be translated)
No other app content, no system data from your device, and no credentials are transmitted, except for the API key you provide for technical authentication with the selected provider.
You decide which text is sent. Please do not submit sensitive or confidential information. If you transmit personal data anyway, you are responsible for ensuring that doing so is legally permitted.
4. Processing outside the EU/EEA
Depending on the AI provider you choose, the transmitted data may be processed outside the EU/EEA. For details (retention periods, subprocessors, transfer mechanisms, training usage, opt-out options), please refer to the privacy policy of the respective provider.
5. Legal bases for processing
• Local processing within the app is performed to provide the app’s functionality (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b), where applicable).
• Data is transmitted to an AI provider you select only at your request when you actively use the feature (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) may apply; alternatively GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) if required to provide the requested functionality).
6. Retention and deletion
• Project and text data remains stored on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
• You can remove API keys at any time in the app’s settings. Upon uninstall, app data is removed as part of the operating system’s standard mechanisms.
7. Data security
The app stores data within macOS’s protected app sandbox. API keys are stored in the Apple Keychain. When communicating with external AI providers, requests are transmitted via the provider’s HTTPS API endpoints.
8. Your rights
To the extent personal data is processed in connection with the app, you have the following rights under the GDPR in particular: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection.
Because the app does not use provider-operated servers when you do not use AI features and your data is stored locally on your device, you can often address requests yourself by deleting content or uninstalling the app. When processing is performed by external AI providers, the rights and contact channels of the respective provider also apply.
